Where we spend our hard earned dollars matters. When we buy from Black owned brands, we are supporting the Black community. One way to demand change is with our spending habits.
Do your research before you buy. Some companies market to Black communities and other communities of color but are not actually Black owned. Big nationwide stores, like Target, are showing their support and making it easier for shoppers to buy from Black companies.
Black Owned Skincare Brands
Talula Skincare. The Ultra Moisturizing Body Butter and Exfoliating Body Scrub are created for people with dry skin and eczema. I’ve used both for a couple years now and my skin always feels so much softer after I use it. The scrub and body butter have worked great for my eczema and keratosis pilaris or you might know it as chicken skin.
Black Owned Candle Brands
Light My Candle Co Shop. This New York based Black owned candle brand makes hand poured soy candles. Try Sea Salt & Orchid for summer vibes or Cashmere for a little extra coziness. Black Cherry Merlot is my personal favorite. It’s not a standard scent anymore but the shop can make custom orders.
One Eleven Candles. This candle company combines relaxing scents with the healing power of crystals. Each candle is handmade with a blend of oils and crystals. Once the candle is burned you’ll have crystals to keep!
Dear Sunday Co. The scents in these soy candles are layered. Want to manifest that penthouse with city views? Try Penthouse Suite with notes of agave, cherry blossom and amber.
Black Owned Wellness Brands
Golde. This Black owned wellness company is available at Target. Looking for a face clearing mask, the Clean Greens face mask comes in a tiny little jar. Just mix the powder with a little water and sit back and relax.

HealHaus. This Brooklyn based wellness studio offers in person and live online healing classes. They have everything from Vinyasa Yoga to Mindfulness Meditations. They even have Reiki and Self Manifestation meditations. There is a class for everyone wherever you are in your healing journey.
Black Owned Makeup Companies
Mented. You’ll be sure to find the perfect nude lip shade. Mented is inclusive of all skin tones. All their lipsticks are vegan, paraben-free, non-toxic and cruelty free.

Black Owned Food Companies
Partake Foods. This Black female owned brand is allergen friendly, gluten free and vegan. There are a range of options to satisfy your sweet tooth from brownie mix to confetti pancake mix to cookie butter cookies.
VeganSmart. A vegan, gluten free protein powder with no artificial sweeteners, flavors or dyes is hard to come by. This Black owned protein powder also has 22 minerals & vitamins making it more nutrient dense than just protein alone.
