Over the last couple years, I’ve been slowly cleaning up my beauty routine and removing any toxic products. It’s been a long process filled with lots of trial and error. Lots of testing out products to see which works best and which doesn’t. Keep reading for the list of products I’ve already tried and are worth replacing any toxic beauty products in your routine with.
Why did I start making the switch to clean beauty products? Beauty products are full of harmful chemicals and the beauty industry is unregulated. There are toxic chemicals allowed in US beauty products that have been banned in Europe. These harmful chemicals have been shown to have negative effects on our bodies. They can mess with our hormones and lead to increased risk of diseases.

I’m not claiming to be perfect or have all the answers but that was reason enough for me to start making the switch to clean beauty products. I want to take care of my health as best as I can.
I know it can seem overwhelming to replace all your beauty products with non-toxic options. It doesn’t have to happen all in one day. Take your time, try different products to figure out what works best for you. Shop at stores that sell clean beauty products.
Sephora is one of my favorite retailers for non-toxic beauty items. They’re free of phthalates,
formaldehyde, oxybenzone and octinoxate. These are my favorite clean beauty products from Sephora.
Skincare
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum with Hyaluronic Acid – This keeps my skin hydrated even in the driest weather.
Biossance Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum – I replaced one of my serums with this one while I was pregnant to help minimize my acne scars.
Farmacy HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum – This serum has been a favorite of mine for years. It’s kind of the other two serums but in one. It’s hydrating and minimizes discoloration.
Moisturizers
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream Intense Hydration – I use this on my hands all year long. It really helps prevent and heal dry itchy skin.
Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil – the only oil I’ll use on my face. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy and it doesn’t break me out.

SPF
Tarte SEA Set & Protect Mineral Sunscreen Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – This is perfect for touching up my sunscreen in the summer without messing up my makeup.
Masks
Glow Recipe Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask – Such a good mask to keep your skin moisturized. Leave it on overnight for hydrated plump skin in the morning.
Biossance Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Mask – When my skin needs a little extra exfoliation this is my go to mask.
Hair
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Repair Perfector – This bond repair works great for my curls. My hair stylists recommended it to me and I’ve used it since. My curls always look refreshed after this treatment.
Playa Pure Dry Shampoo – I try not to over use dry shampoo but this one saves my not so clean hair when I’m in a pinch. It doesn’t leave any visible residue on dark hair.
Tools
T3 Afar Lightweight Travel Size Hair Dryer – By far the best brand of travel size dryers I’ve ever used. They’re pretty high powered for being so small and portable. I pretty much use n older version as my go-to dryer even when I’m not traveling.
T3 Afar Diffuser – If you have curly hair then the diffuser attachment is a must!
Mount Lai De-Puffing Jade Facial Roller – I use this every morning starting from my neck moving up. It’s always cool to the touch and just takes a few seconds. It’s like a little treat for myself every morning, especially after those sleepless nights.
