Finding a natural deodorant isn’t always easy. Everyone has a different body chemistry and what works great for one person may not work so great for the next. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a nontoxic deodorant out there for every person though!
Why You Should Switch to a Natural Deodorant
Your body is supposed to sweat. Antiperspirants use metals and chemicals that clog up your pores to prevent you from sweating. Sweating is how the body gets rid of toxins. Have you ever noticed over the years you seem to sweat more and more needing more and more deodorant? That’s your body reacting to the chemicals.
Speaking of your body reacting, years of conventional deodorant use can make body odor worse. The chemicals disrupt your armpits natural microbiom sending the stinky bacteria into overdrive.
The chemicals can cause a lot of harm to our bodies. What we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bodies.

What Toxins to Avoid in Deodorants
Aluminum, Phthalates, Parabens, Triclosan and Fragrance. Here’s why you should avoid these toxic ingredients.
After some trial and error, I’ve found the deodorants that work best for me and I think they’re absolutely worth you trying to! When making the switch, make sure you detox your armpits asap. Trust me, it makes the whole switching from aluminum deodorant to natural deodorant easier.
Best Non-Scented Deodorant
Hands down this one from Earth Mama is my favorite. There’s no scent added, it’s soft and glides on easily. A few swipes last all day, no need to reapply.
Best Scented Deodorant
Scented is not the same as fragrance. This Lavender & Sage deodorant from Schmidt’s has a light scent from oils, not fragrance ingredients which don’t have to be listed.
Best Baking Soda Free Deodorant
The Acure Charcoal Magnesium one is perfect for sensitive skin. The unscented oatmeal deodorant from Attitude is a fave of mine too!
Best On the Go Deodorant
The EO Natural Deodorant Wipes are perfect to stash in your bag for those extra hot & sweaty days.
